Iran Int’l Quran Contest to Be Held in Person If Conditions Are Ok
“If conditions are available, the final stage of the 49th National Quran Competition will be held in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, otherwise, Tehran will host these competitions. If the conditions for the presence of the competitors are not available, this event will be held in person. Also, the International Quran Competitions will be held in person or virtually, depending on the country’s conditions,” Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Mehdi Khamoushi said.
He seemingly was referring to the war conditions as a result of the US aggression on the country.
He made the remarks during a meeting held in Tehran on Tuesday to discuss holding national and international Quran competitions.
Hojat-ol-Islam Khamoushi said that during the coronavirus pandemic, the Islamic Republic of Iran was the only country that held its international Quran competition without interruption, noting that it was organized virtually.
The International Holy Quran Competition of the Islamic Republic of Iran is annually organized by the country’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization.

The competition aims to promote the Quranic culture and values among Muslims and showcase the talents of Quran reciters and memorizers.
The final round of the 42nd edition of the contest will be held with the participation of representatives from 58 countries.
