The Egyptian National Media Organization, headed by Ahmed Moslamani, announced the launch of the new program, Al-Masrawi website reported.

The program will include speeches and sermons delivered by the sheikhs and imams of Al-Azhar over the past 90 years.

It will cover the period of the presidency of Al-Azhar from the time of Sheikh Muhammad Mustafa Al-Maraghi to Sheikh Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the current Imam of Al-Azhar.

Abdel Rahman Bassiouni, head of the Egyptian Radio, stated that the program will focus on the speeches of the sheikhs of Al-Azhar who held this position during the 20th and 21st centuries.

Ismail Douidar, head of the Egyptian Quran Radio Network, stated that the station has an extensive archive of lectures by these prominent sheikhs, recorded before and after the official establishment of the radio station.

He added that the station has contacted collectors of Islamic heritage and rare recordings and asked for any recordings they may have from the private broadcasting era, in order to include them in the program if possible.

The radio archive includes approximately 600 recorded lectures by prominent imams of Al-Azhar. These lectures include 180 lectures by Ahmed Al-Tayeb, 99 lectures by Sheikh Jad Al-Haq Ali Jad Al-Haq, 92 lectures by Sheikh Muhammad Sayyed Tantawi, 90 lectures by Sheikh Mahmoud Shaltout, 64 lectures by Sheikh Abdul Halim Mahmoud, 38 lectures by Sheikh Hassan Maamoun, 20 lectures by Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Bisar, and two lectures by Sheikh Muhammad Mustafa Al-Maraghi, which were recorded during the private broadcasting era of the radio more than 92 years ago.
