Imam Reza (AS)

Imam Reza (766–818 CE) is the eighth Imam of Twelver Shia. He was known for his wisdom, piety, and teachings on justice and ethics. Abbasid Caliph Al-Ma'mun brought the Imam by force to Khorasan. Imam Reza (AS) was later poisoned in Tus (modern-day Mashhad, Iran), where his shrine is now a major pilgrimage site.
