The Islamic Revolution of Iran continues on its path without any problems because of the Supreme Leader’s independence in making great decisions.

This is according to Azerbaijani scholar and thinker Ramin Dadashev who also told IQNA that unlike new uprisings in the region, the Islamic Revolution is moving toward progress without problems.

He said the Islamic Republic was established in Iran through a popular uprising and that it was demanded by the majority of the Iranians.

“Someone assumed its leadership who was not dependant on any foreign country and whose only purpose was to uphold Islamic teachings and set the ground for people to live their lives based on the commandments of the Holy Quran.”

He said the reason why the Islamic Revolution strongly continues on its path and the Islamic Establishment has become more powerful is the independence of Iran, its people’s commitment to their Islamic obligations, and their following the guidelines of the Supreme Leader.

Dadashev said there are many leaders in different countries who claim to be seeking the establishment of an Islamic government but they are either dependent on foreigners or lack necessary leadership qualities to establish Islamic rule.

He referred to the recent regional uprisings and said weak leadership is an obvious feature in these revolutions.

“Although these uprisings were created by people demanding a return to the path of Islam, we are witnessing events in these countries today that indicate people’s discontent with their new leaders. This raises the question why after overthrowing dictators, people are unhappy with the new government.”

He said the reason lies in the weak leadership. Dadashev noted that Shias believe that to lead a country, a leader must hold fast to the teachings of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

He added that a leader should also be courageous, aware of the developments of the time and stay with people to lead them on the right path and prevent the foreign enemies and their elements to divert people from the right path.

The Azerbaijani thinker stated that this is Velayat and that is why Velayat-e Faqih (leadership of the supreme jurist) is emphasized in Islam.

He said the two wings of the Quran and Velayat lead people toward the path of salvation but when one of them is lacking, Muslims fail in running the affairs and that is what one can see in the recent revolutions in the region.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Dadashev said the Azerbaijan Republic is an Islamic and Shia country and its people are strongly committed to Islamic teachings.

He further warned against the activities of Wahabi groups in the region and urged that their activities be curbed.
