The parents of this Quranic family participated in the competition, showing their commitment to raising their children on the path of memorizing the Quran and learning Quranic sciences, according to Youm7 website.

Abdulrahman Ahmed Mohamed (12 years old), Abdulaziz Ahmed Mohamed Ali (10 years old) and Omar Ahmed Mohamed (8 and a half years old) participated in the recitation competition.

This is while their younger brother, Mohamed Ahmed Mohamed Ali (6 and a half years old), who is the youngest member of the family, also continues to memorize the Quran and has memorized a quarter of it so far.

The mother of the family said all her children have memorized the Quran and her daughter, Maryam Ahmed Mohamed (15 years old), is not satisfied with just memorizing.

“Rather, she has begun to study Quranic Qara’at (methods of Quranic recitation) and has received a Hafs from Asim recitation license, and is currently studying Quranic recitation in the Warsh style.

The mother said that in addition, she has memorized approximately 4,000 verses of poetry, as well as numerous scientific texts and prophetic Hadiths, and has even turned to composing texts and composing odes.

This Egyptian lady stated that she and her husband, who is a Quranic teacher at Al-Azhar, have tried to instill a love for the Quran in their children from an early age and encourage them to participate in Quranic competitions and develop their talents in memorization and recitation of the Holy Book.

Participating in the State of Recitation Competition is an important milestone in her children’s Quranic activities, she said, expressing hope that they will achieve top ranks in this competition.

The Asyut Governorate is currently hosting the preliminary stages of the second season of the “State of Recitation” competition.

The second season of the program, which began a few weeks ago, continues to discover and nurture talented reciters from different governorates of Egypt.

This program is produced in cooperation with the Ministry of Awqaf and Al-Mutahidah Media Services Company, with the aim of supporting memorizers of the Quran and promoting the culture of correct recitation according to the rules of Tajweed.

Last year, the first season of “State of Recitation” was held with the aim of identifying talents and outstanding reciters from different governorates of the country and was broadcast on Al-Hayat, CBC, Nas, Misr Quran Karim satellite channels, and the “watch it” platform.
