Quran Competition Held in Ukraine

A Quran memorization competition was held in Simferopol, the Republic of Crimea in southern Ukraine.


The event was organized by "Alraid”, the Crimean branch of Ukrainian Association of Social Organizations with assistance of the Spiritual Administration of Crimea Muslims.



The competition was attended by 39 young Hafiz (memorizers) from around Ukraine. According to the organizers, there was no age limit for participants. The youngest competitor was 8 years old.



“The purpose of this competition is to draw believers to the Quran studying", said Deputy Mufti of the Crimea Muslims Esadulla Bairov.



The winners of the competition were: Assanov Ahmed, born in 1996, Simferopol, the winner of the category of memorizing the whole Quran; Alkasas Nesrin , Odessa, the winner of the category of memorizing half of the Quran; Arifov Arzy , Simferopol, the winner of the category of memorizing 2 Juzes (parts) of the Quran; and Seyfudinov Sardorbek, Lugansk, born in 1992, the winner of the category of memorizing the 30th Juz of the Quran.
