Quran Competition Planned for University Students in Makkah

A Quran competition will held for university students in the Holy City of Makkah.

According to Okaz daily, the competition is organized by Tibyan Quranic Sciences Institute in February.

The contenders will be students from government and non-governmental universities of Makkah.

The organizing committee said the contest will have four categories of memorization of the entire Quran along with Tajweed recitation, memorization of 20 Juzes (parts) along with Tajweed recitation, memorization of 10 Juzes and memorization of 5 Juzes.   

The jury panel will be made up of top Quran experts, the committee said, adding that a Quran exhibition is planned to be held on the sidelines of the contest.

It is aimed at encouraging university students to learn Quran recitation and memorization and identifying Quranic talents.

The closing ceremony where winners of different categories receive their awards will be organized on Sunday, February 23.
