The final stage of the competition began in a ceremony in the holy city of Mecca on Friday.

On the second day of the event, the men’s and women’s judging committees evaluated the performances of 33 male and female participants from 28 countries.

The competition is held in two sessions, morning and evening. On Sunday, it witnessed the participation of 17 men in the courtyard of the Grand Mosque and 16 women in the women’s section at the competition venue.

With this number, the total number of recitations heard by the men’s and women’s judging committees on the first and second days reached 66 from more than 40 countries.

The international Quranic event will continue until Thursday.

The competition has been organized by the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance.
