Calligraphy in Islamic Art at Pearl Fincher Museum

Calligraphy in Islamic Art is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 18, at the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts, Spring, Texas.

According to a news release from Pearl Fincher, "The program will feature a discussion on the history of the art form. All three featured artists in the Bridging Cultures exhibition will discuss their artwork and use of calligraphy."

Barbara Bush Library is going to hold this exhibition in cooperation with the Al Salaam Mosque and Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts, as a part of a series of programs that are related to a grant that the library has received from the American Library Association and the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Bridging Cultures is presented in partnership with the Barbara Bush Library, a recipient of the Bridging Cultures: Muslim Journeys grant sponsored by the American Library Association & the National Endowment for the Humanities. This exhibition, along with correlated programs at the museum and library, presents to the American public resources representing diverse perspectives on the people, places, histories, beliefs, practices, and cultures of Muslims in the United States and around the world.
