“Ashura, Pillar of Islamic Unity” Seminar Held in Herat

A group of students of Herat State University organized a seminar titled “Ashura, Pillar of Islamic Unity” at Esteqlal Hotel in Afghanistan.


According to IQNA’s branch in West Asia, the program was held on November 16 with the participation of eminent scientific, cultural and political figures, activists of the civil society, cultural representatives of different embassies based in Herat as well as university students and lecturers.



Afdhal Shafaqyar, MA student in theology, Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Ali Jebreili, head of Sadeqiyyah Seminary School, Seyyed Gholam Mohammad Rahmani, Herat Director of Justice, Taher Erfani, president of the Khwaja Abdullah Ansari University and Mawlavi Mahmoud Shafiq, lecturer of Theology Faculty of Herat University presented speeches at the seminar.



Philosophy, features, teachings and objectives of Imam Hussein’s (AS) uprising and Ashura incident were the themes clarified by the scholars.



The participants at the seminar also stressed the necessity of avoiding extremism and negligence and condemned religious and tribal conflicts and invited everyone to act upon Islamic teachings.
