Prominent Lebanese scholar Sheikh Afif Nablusi said the progress in nuclear talks between Iran and the West has caused tension in the Zionist regime’s political circles.

Speaking in a meeting with Ali Fayadh, a member of Lebanon’s parliament, Sheikh Nablusi said the Zionist regime’s political leaders are anxious about this progress in talks.

He said Tel Aviv considers the progress in negotiations as being harmful to its interests and that is why it is discussing with the Arab states of the Persian Gulf an attack on Iran or Lebanon.

Nablusi added that Israel’s opposition to the nuclear negotiations between Iran and the G 5+1 has intensified in recent days.

During the last round of the nuclear discussions, Tehran and the G 5+1  managed to narrow their differences and were seemingly close to reaching an agreement on Iran nuclear energy program.

At the end of the latest round of Geneva talks on November 10, the two sides did not reach an agreement, but stressed that significant progress had been made and expressed optimism about the prospect of a possible deal in the future.
