“Caucasian Elites” by Iranian Researcher Unveiled in Azerbaijan

A book titled “Caucasian Elites” by Hojat-ol-Islam Adel Mowlayi, Iranian researcher, was unveiled at a ceremony in Baku, the Republic of Azerbaijan.


According to IQNA’s branch in Central Asia, the program was attended by Sheikh-ol-Islam Pashazadeh, head of the Office for Caucasian Muslims’ Affairs, and tens of representatives from the country’s parliament, religious scholars, university lecturers and literary figures.



Addressing the ceremony, Pashazadeh said that the valuable book is the first step to introduce sources of emulation, jurists, clerics and Sheikh-ol-Islams in the history of Caucasia.



The ceremony was also attended by Iranian ambassador to Azerbaijan and representative of the Supreme Leader in this country.



Mobarez Ghorbanli, member of the parliament and deputy of the executive secretary of the ruling party in Azerbaijan, was other speaker at the program who expressed satisfaction over the publication of the book and stated that unlike geographical territories, there is no territory for religion and introduction of religious scholars will result in the growth of the younger generations.



Hojat-ol-Islam Mowlayi, the author of the book, said that he spent 14 years to complete his researches about religious scholars in Caucasia.



“The book includes information collected through field works and pictures of the scholars which have been painted by an artist,” he added.



Fattah Heydarov, parliament member and head of the Council of the Deans of Azerbaijan, said that having conducted researches for 14 years, the author has written a unique work about Caucasian scholars.



Also speaking at the program, Hoajt-ol-Islam Ojaghnezhad, representative of the Supreme Leader in Azerbaijan, said that sources of emulation and jurists of Caucasia are eternal spiritual common heritage of all Muslims and the world of Islam.



The book covers biography of 100 religious scholars, sources of emulations and jurists of Caucasia from the first century of Islam till today.



It has been published in 2000 copies in Azerbaijan. A Persian copy of the book had been published in Tehran.
