Islamic Cultures Center Opens in France

Aiming to strengthen relations between religion and art, an Institute of Islamic Cultures has been opened in Paris, France.


According to lemonde website, the institute has been established on a 1400 square-meter site in Goutte d'Or region of the capital city.



It was opened by Bertrand Delanoë, Mayor of Paris, at a ceremony on November 28 with the participation of a number of French political figures such as Daniel Vaillant, mayor of the region 18 of the city, and Daleel Bubakir, director of Paris Grand Mosque.



The Municipality of the city announced that the institute was opened to meet the needs of Muslims of the region, to develop relation between religion and art and to introduce various cultures and beliefs.



The institute has two sections, one as a mosque for Muslims to worship and the other as an exhibition for displaying Islamic photos and artworks.



It is expected that the mosque of the institute to host some 350 Muslims from this month, December 2013.



The cultural section and exhibition of the institute which approximately costs 2 million Euros is due to be opened by 2014.
