According to IQNA’s branch in West Azerbaijan Province, Hojat-ol-Islam Seyyed Mahdi Husseini said that the projects are 70 percent complete and some of the schools will be opened on the occasion of Fajr Ten Day Festival.
Some 116 seminary schools were opened for women during the last five years in different parts of the country and the number is expected to increase to 544 in the following four years, he added.
Hojat-ol-Islam Husseini said that there are 400 female seminary schools in Iran from among which five schools offer level 3 courses and the rest of them offer courses at level 2.
He noted that more than 65000 female seminarians are studying religious sciences at the schools.
The deputy further added that 2 new courses, namely “Fiqh va Usul” (jurisprudence and principles) and “Quranic sciences” will also be included in the curriculum of the level 4 courses in seminaries of the holy city of Qom, Isfahan, and Tehran this year.
He concluded that the female seminaries in Iran are recently established schools which will gradually provide better opportunities for the women of the country who are willing to study religious sciences.
