Quran and Hadith Olympiad of Al-Mustafa Int’l University Planned in 40 Countries

Culture and education deputy of Al-Mustafa International University announced that representatives of 110 countries will participate in the 19th edition of international Quran and Hadith Olympiad to be organized in 40 countries.

In a meeting with Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi on December 2, Hojat-ol-Islam Saleh said that the Olympiad is the greatest Quranic competition in the world.

Seminary students from 110 countries will compete in 32 categories of this edition of the Olympiad in Iran and 40 other countries, he added.

The competitions focus on the Quranic works by Allameh Tabatab’i, Tafsir Nemuneh, Nahjul Balaqa and Sahifa Sajjadiyyah.

The deputy referred to the increasing number of participants in the competition and said that the international event leads to identification of unique potentials all over the world every year.

Considering the objective of the university which is to train preachers to disseminate Islam and culture of Quran and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS), Saleh said that 3000 preachers have been sent by the university to different countries.

The results of the preachers’ activities are manifested in the glorious ceremonies held in Muharram Month and the day of Ashura by the people in Africa, America, Europe and Asia.

The deputy said that the university has opened 260 Dar-ol-Qurans which have trained some 1000 Quran memorizers all over the world.

Translation of the Holy Quran into Chinese, Japanese and many other languages as well as translation of interpretations of the Holy Quran including Tafsir Nemuneh are among the activities of the international university.
