Iran’s religious leaders who are well aware of the world’s affairs have clearly announced that the Zionist regime was made up by the Anglo-Saxons empire to spread colonialism and infringe on international laws.

French journalist and political activist Thierry Meyssan made the remark in an interview with IQNA, adding that the idea of creating the Zionist regime was first proposed by Lord Cromwell in the 17th century with the aim of strengthening the British empire.

He said the plan was based on creating a Jewish state in whose structure there is no place for respecting international laws.

According to the French researcher, it took some time for this plan to be implemented in the 20th century by creation of the Israeli regime in occupied Palestinian lands.

“It should be noted that the problem of the Middle East today is not the existence of a regime or land called Israel but the main issue is the Zionist ideology. In other words, if Israel is created on another continent, the Zionist ideology will still remain in the Middle East. This ideology should be confronted.”

Meyssan referred to the role of Iran’s religious leaders in exposing the true nature of Zionism, saying that since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini (RA) underlined the necessity of standing against Israel.

“After the demise of the founder of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei assumed Iran’s leadership and followed the path of Imam Khomeini”.

He said Ayatollah Khamenei, as a brave person who is aware of the world’s political and religious issues, proved to the world that the Israeli regime has no power by itself and that behind this regime is the Anglo-Saxon empire which had planned for creation of Israel since the 17th century.

The French journalist said the enlightening stances of Iran’s leader showed that the Zionist regime is like an autonomous state of the Anglo-Saxon empire and is doing what the empire has ordered it to.

He underlined that only by knowing the powers behind Zionist can the world get free from the Zionist ideology.

Asked about the difference between the Islamic Revolution of Iran and the recent revolutions in the region,  Meyssan said all of them aimed to fight the world arrogance and imperialism, but Iran’s revolution also featured reviving Islam and religious democracy.

He also said the reason why the recent revolutions failed to deliver their promises was because of lack of leadership.
