9-year-old Quran Memorizer Leads Prayers at Amman Mosque

The preacher and prayers leader of a mosque in the Jordanian capital of Amman is only 9 years old.

 According to Al-Bawaba website, Annas Saleh Al-Shatti has learned the entire Holy Quran by heart and has read a great number of religious books.

He leads prayers at Ibrahimi Mosque in Amman’s Salihiya Al-Abed district where he also delivers sermons.

People in the neighborhood insisted that he lead prayers because they say it would make him a role model for his peers and also encourage parents to urge their children to learn the Quran.

Annas says learning the entire Quran by heart is a blessing given to him by God and that it has put a responsibility on his shoulder.

He says he has memorized the Quran at home under the supervision of his parents without receiving help from specialized Quran memorization centers.
