Sheikh Ahmed Badreddin Hassoun also slammed certain Arabic language networks for supporting the Syrian opposition, SANA reported.
He said he had felt the existence of conspiracies within certain Fatwas (religious edicts) [issued by extremist Wahabis].
Hassoun stressed that Syria has managed to confront the plots of enemies through the sacrifices of the army, the resistance of the nation and the prudence of the country’s officials.
The grand Mufti noted that 83 countries are involved in the enemy conspiracies against Syria.
He further said while Syrians have nothing but compassion, dignity and kindness for Arabs, there are certain Arabs who seek but abjection and weakness.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Hassoun said that by defending the Arab world and the Muslim world, Syria is turning a new page in its history.
