This was announced by Hojat-ol-Islam Mojtaba Kalbasi, secretary of the Committee for Coordinating Mahdism Activities, speaking in a press conference on Monday, December 16.
Mahdism refers to the belief that Imam Zaman (may God hasten his glad advent) will reappear at the end of time and spreads justice in the world.
Hojat-ol-Islam Kalbasi said there are many institutions and centers in the country working in the field of Mahdism.
He noted that the committee was established five years ago to coordinate these activities with educational and cultural objectives.
The cleric pointed to the committee’s activities and said they include holding the biennial Mahdism Book Award in which authors of the top books on Mahdism are honored.
He went on to say that several programs have been planned for the month of Rabi Al-Awwal (January), marking the beginning of Imam Zaman’s (AS) Imamate, including forums and special courses.
