Kuwaiti Quran expert and reciter Abdullah Ahmed Safar Ibil Muhammad Hassan made the remark in an interview with IQNA, adding that Iranian Quranic higher education centers are the cradles of raising Quranic talents.
The Kuwaiti Quran expert said these talents have had a significant role in Iran’s progress in Quranic fields.
He said Iran is the flag-bearer of organizing Quran competitions at the international level and said Iran’s Quran contests are among the best ones.
Muhammad Hassan also praised the sideline programs held during Iran’s Quran competitions.
He referred to the International Quran Competition for Muslim Students as one of the great Quranic events held by the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He underlined that Iran’s Quranic events are improving and getting better year after year as the organizers get more experience.
The Kuwaiti scholar regarded Malaysia as another successful country in holding international Quran contests but noted that Malaysia’s event is only held in the category of recitation.
He further pointed to the importance of Quran competitions in institutionalizing the Quranic culture in society, saying that these events are venues for the gathering of Quran activists who compete in Quranic fields and at the same time promote the concepts and teachings of the Holy Book.
Asked about creation of an international committee for selecting Quran experts to judge international Quran competitions, he hailed the idea and said such a committee should be made up of Quranic figures from different countries to eliminate any room for impartiality.
He said such an approach would help to ensure fair judgments in international Quran competitions and better organization of these events.
The Kuwaiti Quranic figure then stressed the major role of the media in covering Quranic events and thus promoting the Quranic teachings.
