Hamedan to Host Students’ Quran Festival

The 29th edition of the national Quran competition for university students will be held in the western city of Hamedan.

Mohammad Ali Zolfigol, chancellor of Hamedan’s Buali Sina University said the festival aims to foster the Quranic culture and spread spirituality, IRNA reported.

He said the festival will have a competition part held in the written, oral, research, literary and arts sections.

The oral section includes the categories of Tarteel and Tahghigh recitation of the Quran, memorization, recitation of supplications, elegy recitation and delivering speeches, he stated.

Zolfigol noted that the written section of the contest is held on February 23, while the oral section is slated for February 24.

He went on to say that university students willing to take part in the festival can sign up for different categories by February 19.
