Quranic Contest for Imams of Mosques Underway in UAE

A Quran memorization competition for imams of mosques and Muazzins is being held in the UAE by the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments of the country.




According to WAM news agency, the competition is underway in various branches of the authority until April 10, 2014.



Muhammad Matar Al-Ka’bi, director general of the authority said that the competition has been planned with the aim of promoting Quranic skills of imams of mosques of the country particularly in memorization of the verses and contemplating the meanings of the Divine Words.



Al-Ka’bi added that the authority has used specialized computer programs to precisely supervise the competition.



The supervising committee which comprises members of the authority has been instructed how to apply the computer programs to evaluate the memorizations.
