Imam Khomeini (RA) Was Among Pioneers of Islamic Unity

Syria’s grand Mufti said Imam Khomeini (RA) was among the pioneers of Islamic unity who stressed on the motto of Ummah Wahida (united Ummah).

Sheikh Ahmed Badreddin Hassoun made the remarks while addressing the 27^th International Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran on Friday, adding that Imam Khomeini (RA) in his revolution aimed to uphold Islamic unity based on elevating human dignity.

He said Islam has proved its power in science and civilization for centuries but the Muslim world is in a perilous state today because of enemy conspiracies.

Sheikh Hassoun said the conference of Islamic unity has brought together the Muslim world scholars and thinkers to find out what the ailment of the Muslim Ummah is and how it should be treated.

He further highlighted the Islamic Republic of Iran’s accomplishments in scientific and nuclear energy fields and urged the Iranian nation to safeguard these achievements because they are an asset for the entire Muslim Ummah and the world’s oppressed.

The 27^th International Islamic Unity Conference started in Tehran on Friday, January 17, and will continue until Sunday.
