Faith in Leadership, Islamic Revolution’s Distinguishing Characteristic
Speaking to IQNA on the occasion of the Tend-day Fajr (dawn) celebrations marking the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution’s victory, Azizian added that this characteristic has safeguarded the revolution in the past three decades.
He said one of the Divine blessings of Imam Khomeini (RA) was his being with people due to his simple lifestyle.
[Imam Khomeini] managed to form deep relationship with different groups of people and create a strong belief in them to try and remove oppression and arrogance, he stated.
The Assyrian Church of the East priest underlined the central role of the leader in a religious establishment and said it is important that people see in the leader their aspirations and goals.
He further reiterated that popular support for the Islamic Republic of Iran has been one of the major assets of the establishment that has contributed to its accomplishments in different areas.
Millions of Iranians across Iran have begun ten days of celebrations, marking the 35th anniversary of the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
The ceremonies kicked off all over the nation on Saturday morning at 9:33 a.m. local time, the time when the late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini arrived back home from exile on February 1, 1979.
Imam Khomeini spent more than 14 years in exile, mostly in the Iraqi holy city of Najaf. He also spent some time in Turkey and France, before his return to Iran.
The day when Imam Khomeini returned to Tehran marks the start of 10 days of celebrations better known as the 10-Day Dawn festivities, which culminate in nationwide rallies on February 11, the anniversary of the triumph of the Islamic Revolution.
