Int’l Congress Planned to Commemorate Lady Amin

Tehran will host an international congress to commemorate Lady Amin, an outstanding female jurisprudent and theologian, on February 6.


The program will be organized by Lady Amin Cultural Center in cooperation with Women Seminary School, IRIB, Basij organziation and a number of universities.



Representatives from 15 countries and eminent figures from Hawza (seminary) and universities will participate in the program.



The congress will be addressed by Ayatollah Haeri Shirazi, Hojat-ol-Islam Abdul Hussein Khosrow Panah, head of the Iranian Wisdom and Philosphy Research Institute, Ayatollah Akhtari, secretary general of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) World Assembly, Hojat-ol-Islam Zahrayi and Ayatollah Qaem Maqami.



Reason and mysticism, wisdom, Seerah and life style will be the themes of papers to be presented at the program.



Hajiyeh Seyyedeh Nosrat Begum Amin (also known as Banu Amin, 1886–1983) was Iran's most outstanding female jurisprudent and theologian of the 20th century. She received numerous ijazahs (permissions) of ijtihad, among them from Ayatollahs Muhammad Kazim Husayni Shirazi(1873-1947) and Grand Ayatullah Abdul Karim Haeri Yazdi (1859-1937), the founder of the Qom seminary.



She wrote several books about Islamic sciences, among them a tafsir in 15 volumes, and established a maktab in Isfahan in 1965, called Maktab-e Fatimah.
