Best Imam of Tatarstan to Be Chosen by SMS-Voting

"Imam of the year" contest will be held in Tatarstan for the first time, said the Mufti of the republic Kamil Samigullin.

Each district will nominate their candidate, and then by SMS-voting, which will conduct within the year, will be determined the winner. Best imam of the republic will be sent to hajj.
"The spirit of friendly competitiveness will give some incentive to improve ourselves,"  said Samigullin.
According to the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Tatarstan, there are 1373 imams and 1523 mosques in the republic.
In 2014, the competition for the title of best Imam has also started in Bashkiria. The title of the best imams will be determined by the members of muhtasibat.
