It was organized by the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein (AS) holy shrine and was attended by 65 Quran experts and Quranic activists from different provinces of Iraq, the website of the Astan’s Dar-ol-Quran Center reported.
The closing ceremony was held at the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS). It began with Quran recitation by prominent Iraqi Qari Sayyid Hassanayn Al-Halw.
Addressing the ceremony, Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi Al-KArbalayi, custodian of the holy shrine, praised the activities of the Dar-ol-Quran center and said it has played a major role in promotion of the Quranic culture in Iraq.
He added that the center has also succeeded to train a large number of Quran activists.
Also speaking at the function was Yahya Al-Sahhaf, a prominent Quran expert, who described the course as unprecedented.
The course, which had kicked off on Saturday, February 22, aimed to train professional individuals to serve as judges in national and international Quranic contests.
Ammar Al-Khazaee, an official with the center, had previously said that the participants would receive certificates if they manage to complete the course successfully.
