Syria’s Prime Minister Wael Nader Al-Halqi has stressed the role of Muslim scholars to confront the Takfiri ideology.

Speaking in a meeting with a number of activists from Syria’s Dara’a province, Al-Halqi warned that terrorist groups are trying to spread Takfiri ideas among Syrians.
He underlined the need for tackling radical ideas that run against moderation and peaceful coexistence.
The prime minister also stressed the need for Syrian people to remain vigilant and stand alongside the army to fight against terrorism in different parts of Syria.
Syria has been gripped by deadly violence since March 2011. Some sources say more than 130,000 people have been killed and millions displaced due to the violence fueled by Western-backed militants.
According to reports, the Western powers and their regional allies including Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Turkey, are supporting the terrorist militants operating inside Syria.
