Speaking at a press conference on March 4, Hassan Pelarak, said that the reconstruction and renovation of the Atabat continue with the rise in the donations and contributions.
He further elaborated on the activities of the committee this (Iranian calendar) year as well as its plans for the next year.
He said that the Zarihv (brassy lattice windows surrounding the holy shrine) and covers of the shrines of the two infallible Imams’ (AS) in Kadhimayn have been completed and the four doors of the holy shrines in Samarra are ready to be unveiled in the holy city of Qom.
Reconstruction projects inside the holy shrines in Samarra have also concluded and some development projects are being implemented at the holy shrines, he added.
The stone-flooring project at Imam Hussein’s (AS) holy shrine and the construction of Hazrat Zeynab (SA) Clinic also finished this year and Imam Sajjad (AS) Hospital was equipped and is due to be opened in the new year.
The second phase of Hazrat Zahra (SA) Courtyard in 220000 square meters as the second great project of the Muslim world after the Great Mosque in Makkah is among other planned projects of the committee for the coming year.
Construction of four courtyards in the holy mausoleum of Imam Hussein’s (AS) in Karbala will begin next year and a new dome will be built for the holy shrine.
Taking into consideration that the holy city of Karbala hosts millions of pilgrims every year, the committee plans to open a residential complex in the holy city to accomadate 5000 people.
Establishing three centers for 10000 pilgrims on the Karbala-Baghdad road as well as a camp to host 100000 pilgrims in the holy city of Karbala have also been planned by the committee.
