Dubai Municipality Plants 30 Olive Saplings in Quran Park

The Dubai Municipality has planted 30 olive saplings as part of the second stage of its Plantation Week in the Quran Park, an environment project under way in Al Khawanej.

 Dr Rashid Ahmed bin Fahad, Minister of Environment and Water, and Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director-General of Dubai Municipality, were also present at the event that was held on Monday.

While talking about the program, Lootah said the Plantation Week campaign, which seeks to expand the green areas in the country, is a great move towards protecting the environment. 
While talking about the Quran Park project he said, it is one of the important and most innovative projects undertaken by the civic body in order to increase the green stretch in the emirate.
It will give the visitors a chance to understand the Holy Quran’s concept of environment as well as add another fantastic green experience in Dubai, he said.
Lootah said the project will be completed by the first half of 2015. Folklore programs and other cultural programs were also held as part of the event.
