According to Noon website, the closing ceremony of the cultural week was held at Kowthar University’s mosque with the participation of some 6000 Pakistanis.
The program began with recitation of the Holy Quran’s verses by Haj Adel Karbalayi, Qari and Muazzin of the holy shrine in Karbala, and continued with Tawasheeh performance.
A documentary film produced by Al-Hadi Channel to introduce cultural and Islamic activities and programs of the holy shrine in Pakistan was screened at the ceremony.
Recitation of Imam Hussein’s (AS) pilgrimage (prayer), awarding winners of the Quran memorization and recitation contest, speeches, eulogies and a photography competition were among other programs of the ceremony.
Five participants in the ceremony were selected by draw and awarded a pilgrimage trip to the holy sites in Iraq.
Titled “Nasim-e Karbala” (breeze of Karbala), the Islamic-cultural week was jointly organized by the Kowthar University and custodianship of Hazrat Abbas’s (AS) holy shrine.
Cultural weeks of the holy shrines in Iraq have been planned to be held in various parts of the world in order to introduce intellectual, cultural and development achievements of the centers.
