“Journey through Islamic Worship” Course to Be Held at London University

A 4-Day Intensive Course on Salah, Fasting, Zakah & Hajj Essentials is going to be held at Queen Mary, University of London.

 

Ritual worship or ibadah lies at the heart of the Islamic faith and practice. Journey through Islamic Worship is a four day intensive course covering the essentials of the four practical pillars of Islam - Salah, Fasting, Zakah and Hajj.

The course will cover the basic legal guidelines (fiqh) of each pillar based on the Quran and Hadith. The spiritual dimensions of each pillar of Islam will also be explored in addition to providing an insight into personal development through these four strands of Islamic worship.

Guest scholars specializing in Islamic jurisprudence will also deliver presentations on selected topics and lead interactive Q&A sessions.

Shaykh SM Hasan al-Banna is the founding director of the Islamic Institute for Development & Research (IIDR) and a member of the Steering Committee of Research Center for Islamic Legislation and Ethics (Faculty of Islamic Studies, Qatar Foundation) and  Shaykh Ahmad Faruq, an Executive Committee member of the British Academy of Quranic Studies (BAQS) are the Instructors of the course.

The course will be held on 26th – 27th April & 3rd – 4th May, 2014 from 9.00am – 6.30pm.
