Nat’l Quran Contest for Iraqi Seminarians Concludes in Karbala

The second edition of national Quran recitation and memorization contest for Iraqi students of seminary schools concluded on March 9 in Karbala.


According to the information website of the Dar-ol-Quran of Husseini holy shrine, the closing ceremony of the contest was held with the participation of eminent figures, scholars and seminarians of the country.

A group of seminarians recited the holy Quran’s verses at the program and winners of the contest were awarded.

The ceremony was attended by Sheikh Ali Al-Fatlawi, representative of Imam Hussein’s (AS) holy shrine, Sheikh Ali Al-Khatib, deputy of Shia Awqaf Office in Iraq, Allameh Seyyed Sami Badri, representative of Iraqi seminary scholars, and Seyyed mohammad Ali Al-Miski, head of Ja’fari Islamic Council of Damascus.

Memorization of the entire Quran, 10 and 5 Juzes (parts) and 1 and a half Juzes of the Quran as well as Tarteel recitation of the verses were various categories of the contest.

Sheikh Hassan Al-Mansouri, head of the Dar-ol-Quran, said that the contest was organized all over the country for the second time with the participation of 150 seminary students from different provinces of Iraq.
