According to Libyan News Agency, the competition was organized by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs of Libya in cooperation with Charity Foundation of Ajdabiya.
Some 40 Quran memorizers and Qaris from different parts of the country participated at the competition.
Sheikh Ahmad Sadeq, head of the organizing committee of the contest, said that the main objective of the contest was to unite Quran activists and followers of the Nabawi Sunnah all over the country.
He added that recitation of the Holy Quran’s verses in different styles including Qalun, Warsh and Hafs were some categories of the contest.
The jury panel of the contest comprised Quran experts from Al-Bayda, Benghazi, Ajdabiya, Misrata and Zliten cities.
The national Quran competition in Libya was underway for 5 days.
