Annual Convention of Ivory Coast Muslims Slated for Next Week

The annual gathering of Muslims in Ivory Coast will be held at Al-Furqan Islamic University on April 16-21.

This will be the fourth edition of the convention, which is held on the theme of “Coexistence, Tolerance and Development”, newsabidjan website reported. 
It is aimed at encouraging and promoting brotherly relations based on Islamic teachings.
More than 850 Muslim scholars from different cities of the West African country will take part in the great gathering.
Delegations from a number of countries including Benin, Burkina Faso, Mali, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia are also scheduled to be present at the event.
The participants, among other issues, will discuss the role of Islam in peaceful coexistence among followers of different faiths, the problems of Muslim citizens in Africa, and the approvals of Ivory Coast’s Academy of Muslim Scholars.
