Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Kuwait’s Emir will take part in the closing ceremony today to award the winners.
Hassan Soleimani, Iran’s representative in the Quran memorization category of the contest told IQNA that the winners have not been introduced yet but Aqlam Al-Hurra website has cited Mauritania’s Mustafa Salim Walid Abuh winning the top title.
The competition kicked off last week at the International Islamic Charity Organization (IICO) theater.
The jury panel of the contest comprised two Kuwaiti Quran experts as well as Quran experts from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt and Jordan.
Winners are awarded cash prizes amounting to 114,000 Kuwaiti dinars ($400,000) in total.
