Speaking to IQNA, Ahmad Abolqassemi said when foreign students come to Iran to take part in the competition, they see for themselves the efforts made by Iran to serve the Holy Quran.
He said in his encounters with Qaris from other Muslim countries, he has seen that they could not believe Iran puts so much effort into Quranic activities and organizing Quranic programs.
The Iranian Quran activist added that the visiting students are also inspired by the high level of the competition.
The international Quran competition for Muslim students is held biennially with the participation of Muslim students from different countries.
The third edition of the contest was held in the northwestern Iranian city of Tabriz on September 11-15, 2012.
Abolqassemi noted that the competition has been successful in encouraging the students and youth from different countries to take part in Quranic activities.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the prominent Quran reciter said the number of Quran competitions in Iran should increase given the large number of Quran reciters and memorizers trained in the country.
