I’Jaz: Humans’ Inability to Bring a Verse Like Those of Quran

A Palestinian scholar said the Quranic I’jaz (miracle) refers to the inability of human beings to bring a verse like those of the Holy Quran.

Sheikh Khalid Al-Riyati made the remark in a seminar titled “Quran’s Scientific I’jaz” held Sunday in Palestine College of Sciences and Technology, Felestinnews network reported.
He noted that I’jaz derives from the word Ajz which means inability to do something.
The Palestinian scholar added that linguists have acknowledged the power of the Quran’s style and its beauty.
The seminar was jointly organized by the college’s Islamic association and students association with the participation of university students and scholars.
Muhammad Nasr, head of the students association said the seminar was held with the aim of elevating the students’ Quranic knowledge and awareness.
