"If the Takfiri groups are not confronted, they will deal more blows to the Muslim world, Ayatollah Khamenei said Monday in a meeting with the visiting Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Takfiris are extremist groups who consider some Muslims to be infidels. They have perpetrated atrocities in countries like Syria, Pakistan, Lebanon and Iraq against Muslims following different schools of thought.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Supreme Leader referred to the cordial relations between the Iranian and Pakistani nations and said the opportunity to expand bilateral relations should not be missed.
The Pakistani premier in this meeting said he would do his best to upgrade the relations between the two countries.
Iran’s First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri was also present at the meeting.
