A number of Quranic personalities from Egypt will be present at Iran's 31st International Holy Quran Competition, an official confirmed.

Vali Yarahmadi, head of the Quranic Affairs Center of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, told IQNA that this year, like in previous years, a number Quran reciters and experts will be in Iran for the competition.
Earlier this week, there were reports that head of Egypt's Association of Quran Reciters has called on the country's Quran not to travel to Iran.
Sheikh Muhammad Tablawi urged the Sheikh of Al-Azhar Islamic Center Ahemd Al-Tayyeb and Egypt's Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Minister Muhammad Mukhtar Guma to prevent Egyptian Qaris and the scholars of Al-Azhar from going to Iran and Iraq.
Tablawi said the "mistake" made by Farajullah Shazli must not be repeated, Al-Ahram daily reported.
Last week Farajullah Shazli, the eminent Egyptian Qari, was temporarily banned from Quran recitation in Cairo's Al-Azhar Mosque because he once recited the Adhan (call to prayers) the Shia style while in Iraq.
Shazli was later forced to apologize, which indicated the influence of extremist Salafist groups in Egypt.
Tablawi at the same time underlined the importance of unity among Shia and Sunni Muslims and said minor differences between the two schools of thought cannot harm the friendship between the followers of the two.
