Deputy Secretary General of Hezbollah Sheikh Naim Qassem underlined that unity and solidarity among Iraqis will defeat the American-Zionist-Takfiri conspiracy.

He underlined that the plot hatched by the United States, Zionist regime and Takfiri extremists will be tackled just as their conspiracies in Palestine, Syria and Lebanon were defeated.
The Zionist regime lost its encounters with the resistance movement in 2000 and 2006 and also faced defeat in its confrontation with the people of Palestine in Gaza, he said, adding that their Takfiri plot in Syria also failed.
“Their scenario in Iraq will also end in failure with the unity and solidarity of the Iraqi people,” Sheikh Qassem stressed.
He further said that in order to resolve the issue of extremism and terrorism in the region, formation of international and regional coalitions against these phenomena is needed.
The comments came as Iraqi volunteers are joining the country’s armed forces to fight against a full-blown insurgency by armed members of the al-Qaeda-linked Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
Around 1.5 million Iraqis have volunteered to join battles against the terrorist militants.
In early June, following its large-scale offensives in Iraq, ISIL seized control of most parts of Mosul, the second most populous city in Iraq, its surrounding Nineveh province. ISIL militants have been in control of Fallujah city since December.
The terrorists’ attacks have reportedly forced more than half a million people in and around Mosul, the capital of Nineveh Province, to flee their homes.
The Takfiri (extremist) militants are said to have entered Iraq from neighboring Syria and Saudi Arabia to destabilize the Arab country.
