The course, which features recitation of the Holy Quran and Tajweed, is being held on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, IQNA’s Africa branch reported.
The course is held two days a week and will last for two months, the report said.
Speaking at the opening of the course, Hassan Zakeri, Iran’s cultural attaché, extended congratulations on the occasion of the holy month and underlined the need for benefiting from the Quranic culture to defend religious values.
He also said the cultural center is ready to organize Quranic programs for children and teenagers as well as advanced Quranic courses.
Senegal is a country in West Africa where Muslims attach great importance to Quranic activities and Quranic education.
There are thousands of Quranic schools in the country.
