Reduced Sentences for Inmates who Memorize Quran in UAE
Dubai police department grants pardons or reduces sentences of prisoners who memorize the Holy Quran in the holy month of Ramadan.
According to the police’s plan, jail terms are commuted for inmates who learn the entire Quran or part of the Holy Book by heart, ae24 website reported.
It is aimed at encouraging prisoners to memorize the Quran and get acquainted with its teachings.
Dubai police department has also arranged other special programs for inmates in the holy month, including religious seminars, Tajweed and Quran interpretation courses, and Quran memorization courses.
