Quran Recitation Contest Held in Moscow

The first round of Quran recitation contest has completed in Moscow.

It was held in the Memorial mosque, located on Poklonnaya Hill. This competition conducted under the framework of "Ramadan Tent" charity campaign, held for several years in a row has become a tradition for Moscow Muslims.
18 contestants from different region of Russia took part in the qualifying round. The jury consisted of the chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Penza region Islam Dakshin, the Director of the Center of Quran Memorization of RIU Ibrahim Sabirov and respected guest from Egypt Sheikh Ali.
The first round consisted of two categories: "Tilawah" (beautiful recitation of the Holy Qur'an) and "Hifz" (knowledge of the Quran by heart). In the category of "Tilawah" the first place reward was given to Aligadzhiev Magomed (Dagestan), the second place reward was given to Askhabov Vahit (Chechen Republic), and third place was given to Zarifi Barakatullo (Moscow region, MIU). In the category of "Hifz" the first place was given to Aligadzhiev Magomed (Dagestan), the second place was given to Zarifi Oyatullo (Moscow region, MIU) and Abdulhalikov Bilal (Dagestan) and the third place reward was given to Rabadanov Gusen (Dagestan).
All the participants of the All-Russian qualifying round of the Moscow International Competition of Quran reciters were awarded with diplomas of participation and gifts.
The winners will represent Russia at the XV Moscow International Competition of Quran reciters, which will be held on September 20 in Moscow.
