According to IQNA’s branch in Europe, Muslims of the region and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) devotees attended the programs on the nights of the 19th and 21st of the holy month of Ramadan.
Ghadr Night or Laylat-ul-Ghadr, variously rendered in English as the Night of Destiny, Night of Power, Night of Value, the Night of Decree or Night of Measures, is the anniversary of two very important dates in Islam that occurred in the holy month of Ramadan. It is the anniversary of the night that the first verses of the Quran were revealed to the holy Prophet (PBUH).
The programs began at the Islamic center two hours before the evening prayers with reading of one Juz (part) of the Holy Quran and continued with Jowshan Kabir Supplication recited by Mostafa Samavati.
Hojat-ol-Islam Azimifar and Ayatollah Ramezani addressed the programs and talked about the virtues of Imam Ali (AS) and Ghadr Nights as well as the rituals of the nights.
According to one 2011 estimate based on ethnic origin, there are 200,000 Muslims in Hamburg who welcome the holy month of Ramadan and fast during the long summer days.
