The Eid al-Fitr prayers will be held in over 900 holy shrines across the country, an official with the Iranian Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization said.

Hojat-ol-Islam Ahmad Sharafkhani added that required preparations have been made for the faithful to say congregational Eid prayers in the holy sites.
He added that Eid al-Fitr is the Eid of worshipping God and a day when the faithful receive the reward of a month of fasting, worshipping and prayers.
At the end of Ramadan, Muslims throughout the world observe a joyous celebration called Eid al-Fitr (the Festival of Fast-Breaking). Eid al-Fitr falls on the first day of Shawwal, the month which follows Ramadan in the Islamic calendar.
It is a time to give in charity to those in need, and celebrate with family and friends the completion of a month of fasting, blessings and joy.
This year, the Eid al-Fitr is likely to fall on Tuesday, July 29.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Hojat-ol-Islam Sharafkhani noted that some 1100 of the country's holy sites hosted Quran recitation and interpretation sessions during the holy month of Ramadan this year.
