Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani has sent separate messages to his counterparts in Muslim countries and regional personalities, offering felicitations on the auspicious occasion of the Eid al-Fitr.

In the congratulatory letters issued, Larijani passed on good wishes to his counterparts, their colleagues and Muslims across the world.

At the end of the holy month of Ramadan, Muslims throughout the world observe a joyous celebration called Eid al-Fitr (the Festival of Fast-Breaking). Eid al-Fitr falls on the first day of Shawwal, the month which follows Ramadan in the Islamic calendar. It is a time to give in charity to those in need, and celebrate with family and friends the completion of a month of fasting, blessings and joy.
Larijani further touched on the situation in the Gaza Strip and the Zionist atrocities in the coastal enclave, and underlined that all Muslims, no matter what their ethnicity, nationality or sect, seek the liberation of Quds and Palestinian lands.
He also warned against discord among Muslims and said Takfiri extremists must not be allowed to fan the flames of religious disunity in the Muslim world.
