Interim Friday prayers leader of Tehran underlined the need for Muslim world to help the people of Gaza.

Addressing worshipers in Tehran on Friday, Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Movahedi Kermani said the (Rafah) border crossing (between Gaza and Egypt) must be opened by Egypt so that other countries can send aid to Gaza residents.
He described the silence of world bodies over the atrocities in Gaza as shocking and wondered whether it is not time for them to acknowledge the truth and deal with the cancerous tumor (Zionist regime).
The senior cleric said in order for confronting the Zionist regime, it is necessary that countries sever ties with Tel Aviv, boycott the occupying regime and stand up against the Zionist regime's supporters.
Ayatollah Movahedi Kermani also referred to the United States' assistance to Israel as appalling.
The comments came as the death toll from the ongoing Israeli aerial and ground attacks in the war-stricken Gaza Strip is on the rise.
About 1,500 Palestinians have been killed and over 8,000 injured following 25 days of Israeli aerial and ground assaults on the Gaza Strip.
