According to Al-Akhbar website, the meeting was organized by the Association of Charity Affairs in Mauritania.
“Quality and style of Quran memorizers’ life” was the motto of the meeting also attended by a number of prayers leaders of the country and imams of mosques.
Various Quranic seminars and workshops on memorization of the Holy Quran were held during the convention.
"Application of contemporary technologies in teaching the Quran" and "virtues of a Quran teacher and etiquettes of reading and memorizing the Holy Quran” were the titles of the seminars.
Since independence in 1960, Mauritania has been an Islamic republic. The Constitutional Charter of 1985 declares Islam the state religion and Shari’a the law of the land.
