Student delegations from 33 countries are present at the convention, whose motto is "Unity for the Sake of Gaza", al-Jazeera news network reported.
It has been organized by Sudan's University Students Association in cooperation with the International Coalition of Student Organizations in support of Quds and Palestine.
Addressing the opening session of the gathering, Osama Hamdan, who is in charge of the foreign relations affairs of the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, underlined the need for the world to stand by the oppressed people of Gaza.
He also underlined that the battle with the Zionist regime will only end with the end of occupation.
Al-Nayl al-Fadhil, head of the University Students Association of Sudan, also addressed the event, stressing the need for supporting the people of Gaza.
Nearly 2,000 Palestinians, including 470 children, have lost their lives and more than 10,200 have been wounded since the Israeli military unleashed fatal assaults on the Gaza Strip more than a month ago.
